About us
Welcome to 1st Merton Park Scout Group. Our group is home to a Squirrel Drey, Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop. We also work in partnership with 1st Merton Park Explorer Unit.
For over 100 years there has been scouting in Merton Park. We are an active part of the local community and take pride in our connections to Merton Park. We are part of the Wimbledon & Wandle District and Greater London South West County.
Our group runs all scouting sections from age 4 up to the age of 14. We also work in partnership with The Merton Park Explorer Scout Unit who are ages 14 to 18.
1st Merton Park was formed in 1960 when the 7th Wimbledon joined with the 16th Wimbledon . As a group we are proud of our heritage and proud to continue the legacy of the old groups in supporting our local community of Merton Park.
Scouting provides fun for over 500,000 members, and all of their leaders in the United Kingdom. Every Scout Group in the UK is dependent on its volunteers, so any help that you can give us in any form would be brilliant even if it’s just an hour a month!
Our official Scout Headquarters is the building known as Stanley Lodge in the back corner of the car park of the St Mary’s Church Hall on Church Path, however all of the Group sections meet at the Church Hall. Merton Park Explorer Unit meet at Merton Park Primary School. To find out more about our sections visit these links:
