What do Squirrels get up to?

Every week, they gather in a group called a Drey to go on adventures, make memories, learn new skills and make new friends. There are lots of different and fun activities that squirrels will get to try, we encourage our members to try new things and push boundaries.

Who leads Squirrels?

Squirrel drays are made up of young people aged 4 to 6 years old. They are led by an adult Squirrel leader. Other adult volunteers are on hand to supervise activities. This means that there are always adults on hand to help our youngest section learn new skills and gain confidence

How to join

1st Merton Park is an extremely popular group, this means that lots of young people want to join and you might have to wait for a space to become available before you can start your scouting journey. If you have any questions about accessibility, it’s best to contact us in addition to your application. By being upfront about additional needs from the start, parents/carers can work in partnership with local leaders to make sure their young person has the best experience possible.

Scouting provides a second family to lots of young people. It’s a safe place where they can aspire and grow.'
